i'm trying to mine litecoin with gpu.  For username/password I simply input my litecoin-qt receiving address?  The miner shows me hashing but none are being accepted.

I'm only in kilo hashes, is this too low to mine litecoin?

also how would I verify my miners shares in the pool?

If not, something is wrong!

continuing on from this, I go to the address above but I see another LTC address. Why would that be?

There's something wrong there, what are you mining with? Gh is a speed you'd be likely to get Bitcoin mining, with say a jalapeño, not Litecoin mining…
