I've been in a panic trying to figure out what's causing some users to crash on upgrade and thereafter hence the absolutely ridiculous number of alphanumeric updates lately, sorry about that - I'm hoping I'll have it fixed in the version I'm working…when you held alt down did you get anything in Console app saying MacMiner reset prefs?
