Sorry about this guys, I've updated the version available though it's the same version number 1.5.18d - the only change is that if you open it while holding the alt key till it's open it will unset all your preferences and hopefully allow you to lau…
That is normal speed for your machine, GPU mining isn't as fast running Mac OS - if you booted up on the same machine with Linux or Windows it would be a lot faster. It's crazy but on most of the MacBooks the CPU gives about as good as the GPU!
You could try CPU mining QuarkCoin, that's what I'd do with that laptop, if you want to mine BitCoin you definitely need an ASIC and to be honest these days something faster than a Jalapeño, but it's a nice entry level device if you can get a good d…
Did you restart since deleting it? You may also need to delete the /Users/user/Library/Caches/com.fabulouspanda.macminer folder too if it's just not taking
The new error is the one I'd recommend deleting the .plist for then restarting (or if MBP shut down then boot up again) - sorry about this I'm still investigating the cause but I have a hunch!
Litecoin is so well established there are a lot of people running linux rigs with a bunch of GPUs so they get good speed - if you want to CPU/GPU mine the best thing to do is pick an alt currency you think has a bright future - MaxCoin mining and Qu…
The already in use error suggests you started it twice and there's already an instance running? Can you open Activity Monitor and see how many if any bfgminer and cgminer processes there are? There should only be one, either or.
The ports on the keyboard I wouldn't have expected to work at all but I'd hope that back would work OK - let me know how you get on! Have a good weekend
@polanskiman very sorry for the bug, it appears to have been a problem with the auto update check which is on an 8 hour timer right now - this is fixed now in 1.5.18b
Ah, I think this is an issue with the USB port, are you using one of the ones on the back of the iMac? Do you have a powered USB hub? It would be worth trying another port
that sounds like it fits right? I found the new one auto restarts around 400,000 accepted shares instead of around 6000 so it's a good thing that's working properly in MacMiner 1.5.18 releasedComment by FabulousPandaFebruary 2014
Thanks for the email, just that is fine, the crash reports for cgminer are almost certainly from when the MaxCoin cgminer 3.6.6 kept auto restarting
