In older versions apparently it was 'cbm' in place of 'compac' although that shouldn't be the case here... maybe worth a shot. Don't have one to test unfortunately!
You'll have to check on that with your pool/wallet. But if you're just using your computer (rather than an ASIC) and mining BTC I kinda doubt it, difficulty is too hard these days.
Can you post a screenshot please, and does it give you any more information? Like which binary it thinks is a virus? All the backends are compiled from GitHub sources
You'd have to remember registering for the pools which isn't something you'd have done through MacMiner - some pools like http://eligius.st just require a payout address so you might not have registered…
There's not a hook in MacMiner for retrieving the hash rate, although you could do a dirty workaround by having the miner output the log to file and parsing that for the hash rate… I'm slightly contemplating making a subscription-based replacement f…
This means it is working, however the share difficulty is too high for you to solve any shares. Try again with http://eligius.st and you'll see shares accepted - however, don't expect to earn anything s…
Check your settings panel on the miner - the custom flags field and the worksize field specifically. If unsetting change worksize fixes it please let me know!
This is usually an issue with autocorrect replacing quote marks with curly quotes, which causes a formatting error - let me know if there's another issue there though!
That's peculiar, it looks as though it's set up for solo mining. I couldn't replicate the issue. What does your config file look like? (Edit config file manually in the window preference panel) Did 127.0.0.1:8332 get in there somehow? And which wind…
the devs of cgminer and bfgminer weren't too fond of the U3 IIRC, however have any of you tried the cgminer window instead of bfgminer in the ASIC window?
Are you using archive utility or a third party expansion app? right click the .zip go to open with and see what your default option is and what options are available
That means it's working - but still you're not likely to get much/any litecoin because you need more power than you have. If you're lucky, you'll get something! But you'd have to be lucky.
Right, the CPU is the main processor in any computer, the GPU is what turns the code in to what you see on the display (but also way faster for mining) and FPGA/ASIC devices are dedicated mining devices which either attach via USB or the network and…
If you're using an FPGA or ASIC only some types support adjusting the hash rate - which is done indirectly by altering things called Frequency and Voltage of the chips that are doing the mining. However, I'm afraid MacMiner is unlikely to see future…
