note it is not necessary to include http:// or stratum+tcp:// in the pool address, they are not necessary to make it connect to the pool but sometimes used to choose whether to use stratum or GBT to mine. It will auto detect whatever works.
You need to set up an account with a Bitcoin mining pool, and enter the information from that in the MacMiner preferences. The pool will keep your bitcoin or sent it to a wallet you specify.
Sorry for the delay. I'm afraid BitMain haven't been at all supportive in my contact with them on this and bfgminer hasn't been updated in some time. That compounded with the hectic nature of my IRL life atm means I don't have time to look in to thi…
for the first issue replace stratum+tcp:// with http:// in your pool
For the second - look in to the difference in hash rate when you use both at once, I think you're better off picking one, but if you do go with one it's import…
You mean it's an HTML/XML Error or similar problem when loading the web interface? That happened to me with S3+ after I updated to a newer firmware (quite a long time ago last year) and I couldn't set anything via the partially loaded web interface …
I suspect that without making bfgminer scan for the device (by calling -S noauto) the -d has no effect, so you'd need to allow for -S and -d for a given device, that's a shame but it makes sense that it scans for the device and then starts using it …
You have to have the IP of each miner to have set it up with your pool right? So that's the IP you'd use - if monitoring is enabled the default port is 4028 so try that but it's device dependant and you'd have to make sure in it's web interface.
If you're using MacMiner you need to set it to mine Litecoin/scrypt in the miner options panel rather than specifying it with --scrypt, that's why it's using the pool you set up for BTC not LTC
eligius should be 3334 for startup or 9337 for GBT mining connections
Would you mind messaging me the precise pool, user and pass that caused the crash? Feel free to replace any alphanumeric characters, I'd just like to test out…
By legacy you mean the legacy pool setup there's a button for in Preferences window rather than the text fields in the Preferences window itself, but with all the same settings? It seems I need to do a massive round of bug fixing, which I will …
What device are you trying to use with it? You'll more likely than not have to enable it in the settings panel for the miner, most device types have a check box for it. If you don't see one just chuck
Is it in your Applications folder and named MacMiner.app ? Older versions crashed if not, that could be the case here, not sure whether that was true of the last 10.6 version.
The S3 is standalone - just plug in the ethernet cable and find it's web interface on your network. You can Monitor it in MacMiner's API Output window, but it's self contained.
You could also use the GPU window and the FPGA window separately in the same instance of MacMiner seeing as you're using the both already, double the time between memory leak related crashes hopefully :S They both use the same version of bfgminer
Interesting that you get significantly better hash rate from the U2s with the latest bfgminer, perhaps you'd be better off running two instances of the beta version than one of each version? I fed your data back to luke at bfgminer, hopefully we'll …
Weird, I left mine running since I last posted with no problem - did you move it to the applications folder? Unfortunately I'm really busy the next few days, but when I get a chance I'll check whether it's releasing something it shouldn't be or mish…
I'm going to leave mine running with quiet output and just a block erupter connected and see whether I can reproduce the issue… I'm guessing it usually take a few hours to crash? I'll update you tomorrow…
