ok …so I got up after a couple hours and checked it…showed it was hashing but I had no accepted shares so I still had 0 for a hash rate. I switched back to Scr-n and it performs the same as the old version..about 67% accepted. The good news is , it was working with GPU…weird thing though with the GPU it hashes a lot slower than the CPU but it showed 800+ accepted shares with no rejects where as the CPU shoewd about 78 accepted shares
Ooh that's good news! The thing about cpu mining is that it splits up the work between the cores creating several threads all working at slower individual speeds which add up to the total speed, whereas GPU mining uses one thread and all the power of the GPU is working on that one thread/share at once.
I've released another beta update with an updated vtc cpu miner backend so hopefully that'll improve your accept rate - it hasn't fixed the password problem yet, I don't want to rush that but I know people have been waiting for the changes in the backends so here's another beta!
Awesome…I had 5 of 5 shares this afternoon on x11 whenI got up. I switched over to Scrypt n and I am at 5 0f 5 in about 5 minutes…that is 100% improvement. Usually I would start SN with 0 of 1 and would stay at 65- 70% right out of the gate..ha ha 7 of 7 now…I am on my way to work. I will let this run on SN for the night and will report back when I get home.
