cant get started

I am using my Macbook pro,ver 10.9.2

 I have  wallet,  pool, worker. but I continue to get this error. could someone please be patient with me and help me get started?

Stratum connection failed: Couldn't resolve host 'stratum01.max-coin.net'

max-coin.net doesn't appear to be a pool- what's the pool website?

Hi and thanks for getting back to me my pool website is mining.bitcoin.cz/  Ill try to change to this

These are the 2 the pool site recommends I have tried many variations of these two sites but usually get this response over and over.

You need to have it set to Bitcoin in the miner settings panel
