Help! BitCoin Mining problem

edited April 2014 in General
Hello, having another issue... anyway, I don't know lots about the technical side so please keep the language basic :) thanks

So I'm trying to mine BitCoin using macminer and my pool is slush's pool

I have the Mine set up as sha-256 cpu mining
 and my pool settings are:
username: username.worker1
password: my worker password

yet when i click start mining, it just says starting up and it has been saying that for 30mins. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

  • It can take a while for the CPU miner to show more detailed info - sometimes a long while - it depends on pool share difficulty. I'm not sure you can get away with CPU mining BTC at all these days, but I haven't tried it!
