Buy a BL's Jalepeno or use old (2008) Macbook pro?

Hello, 

Im new Bitcoin mining and was wondering if my old Macbook Pro would suitable or should I buy a Butterfly labs machine?

Spec on my Mac are: 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with 4GB ram, and a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB

You could try CPU mining QuarkCoin, that's what I'd do with that laptop, if you want to mine BitCoin you definitely need an ASIC and to be honest these days something faster than a Jalapeño, but it's a nice entry level device if you can get a good deal on one, not quite as noisy as the other BFL units.

I've just started reading about crypto currency mining, in general and it's very intriguing to me. Hoping to see if I can actually make money.
