Basic question

I am also a newbie and installed MacMiner 1.5.4.  BFGMiner and CGMiner don't appear to be receiving any work to hash.  I constantly see pool.hostv.pl connections being rejected.

CPUMiner appears to work, but I never see my BTC address (1HnumqMXu8kSodZsaWmv3LuKWL9LrXJ5vR) showing up in the hourly or daily logs.

Question 1: Does CPUMiner perform BTC work or is it only for LTC?

Question 2: Why all the rejections for pool.hostv.pl?  Is it a redundant pool that is not needed?

Question 3: If pool.hostv.pl isn't needed why am I not seeing work being performed on my Mac Pro running OSX 10.9.1 when using BFGMiner or CGMiner?

pool.hostv.pl is for backup and is down at the moment, it will be replaced in  later versions

CPUMiner takes settings for LTC setup as generally there's not a lot of point CPU mining SHA coins like BTC, I'll clear this up in newer versions!

Are you trying to GPU mine on your Mac Pro? If so you need to check enable GPU mining in miner settings panel, and you need to use bfgminer window

Yes I had already figured out that I would need to enable GPU mining.  Here is a snippet of the log file.  I think there must be some other error occurring that is preventing me from working.
