edited December 2013 in Support
Hello. I'm new to mining and i'm getting an error message when I try to start MacMiner
"cDevicesNum returned error, no GPUs suable. All devices disabled, cannot mine"

Anyone know what i'm doing wrong/ how to fix?

  • What kind of Mac are you using? Unfortunately it probably means it's too old for GPU mining… you could try Litecoin CPU mining in the cpu miner window though!
  • Hi first of all thanks for thinking of Mac users and making something user friendly. Unfortunately I have already lost a lot of hair over the last 24 hours trying to get these command line apps to work and just having a really bad time with it. This at least appears to be doing something and not crashing the system. I input my coin addresses though I'm only trying to mine Litecoin. CPU's are at max, seems to be working but the command line feed in the app seems to be trying to access various pool sites or servers that are not fabulouspanda, they don't work, get rejected. So I don't know if it's just spinning wheels or if it's actually achieving something?

My other question is I'm really confused about the different available windows. I have a MacPro mid 2007 model 8 core Xeon 3gz with a slow nvidia graphics card. I disabled GPU mining since it's so slow and anyway doesn't work. With BFG miner I'm only getting about average of ~20KH Does that sound right? What is the difference between BFG Miner, CG Miner, CPU Miner etc. ??
  • No problem Mike! The different windows have different back ends - if you want to CPU mine LTC your best bet is to use the CPU Miner window which uses pooler's cpuminer a.k.a minerd which is the best you can get for the job and I'm sure you'll see an improvement on BFG Miner window which works better for GPU mining.

The other pools that are being connected to are the default backup p2pool nodes so I'll be updating those in the next update to more stable nodes - as the primary pool is up it shouldn't be a problem!

You should search this page for your LTC address:
