P2Pool has high difficulty (each shares is harder than on most pools) so you'd need to be going aver about 10Gh to get a straight line - you're seeing bumps of several Gh spaced apart a lot which should on average come out …
What's your BTC address? It should show up within 10 minutes. That speed is really too low for P2Pool, you'll just be hoping on luck to get an unusually high payout…
You should be getting more accepted shares than that but 18mins is too early to say how it's going really, you did get two high difficulty shares - and P2Pool has one of the highest pool difficulties - you should keep an eye on the two graphs under …
Thanks, I appreciate it! work update requests aren't on their own anything to worry about but if your hash rate drops then something bad is happening there… Does hash rate drop too? You should be able to unplug and plug back in the BFL without quitt…
Ah, it must have been the default drivers in 10.9 causing the problem. cgminer will work for you now in MacMiner too. I'll look in to whether anyone else might be having the problem with bfgminer on 10.9, I know a few people aren't though.
If you're running 1.4.26 and click save & start in pool settings the connection refused messages will go away - Just to make sure you did put your LTC address in there right?
you do need to untick dynamic intensity but 16 is…
Yeah but on the rare occasions where you do manage to do a little difficulty projection based on the miners on the way and a fixed timeline for your delivery you can get a really nice deal, either of the first knc batches made money within a month o…
I think the first generation of Mac Pro gets about 18kh in cpuminer and depends what video card in bfgminer but the default intensity is quite low for litecoin so you might want to adjust that.
Ah I see how that's a bit confusing, it's very different Bitcoin and Litcoin mining, if you had 50mh/s Litecoin mining you'd make a lot of money but you probably have about 50kh/s Litecoin mining - Litecoin mining is much harder and thus slower for …
Unfortunately 50mh/s is really too slow for BTC mining on P2Pool, it would really just be a matter of luck whether you see a payout or not - I'd recommend Litecoin mining or an ASIC :S Sorry about that!
What did you enter for pool settings? You can get a litecoin client from litecoin.org which is where you can get a LTC address for your rewards. Also, what is in the bfg logs when you click start?
Thanks! I'm pretty sure the problem is something to do with the sparkle updater framework, I'll try building from github to see whether that helps the issue
Please do post a crash report and if you don't mind try downloading and opening it again - I haven't found a common reason for this to be occurring but it seems as though machines experiencing the problem can be fixed be acquiring the file again.
Hey no problem - it was actually that CPU Miner doesn't mine BTC but bfgminer can GPU mine it - but there isn't really any point any more so better off using it for Litecoin. You were mining at 70kh so you should get a few payments a week from the F…
Looks as though it's working, just very slowly - what mac are you using? The default intensity it set quite low so as not to stress Mac hardware, if you don't mind doing that you should put it up in miner settings
That's a pretty big question! You should get a wallet from bitcoin.org - you can just enter your address for rewards in MacMiner to use it's public p2pool node or sign up for a big pool like http://m…
The next version should fix most if not all of the rare little bugs like that (as long as no reason comes along to force a newer one out more quickly) as the pool setup will be cleaned up.
