Please let me know if you try this on a system earlier than 10.13 – there was a compiler warning for ASM that it had build for 10.13 instead of 10.9 and I might need to raise an issue on GitHub for that one.
thx for your work. already tried. cpu version works fine, amd version works also but without amd ;-)
this means only cpu, no amd (tried on an imac 27 and on a mac pro)
thx, the new b-version works again on the imac 27. on the mac pro same problem as with 2.4.3. starts to compile the open cl bin and stopps with error, illegal instruction: 4
I'm seeing this error alot - along with CrashReport appears to be constantly triggered -
[2018-10-19 11:46:12] : Switch to assembler version for 'intel_avx' cpu's
[2018-10-19 11:46:12] : Switch to assembler version for 'intel_avx' cpu's
[2018-10-19 11:46:12] : Switch to assembler version for 'intel_avx' cpu's
In any case, open up the cpu.txt config file and there are instructions in there - change asm "auto" to "intel_avx" and it should stop showing that message at least.
i don't think this is an error, only a notification which is triggered by the auto setting. goes away with changing the cpu settings as mentioned by fabulouspanda
@pon on the Mac Pro try adding
--noAMDCache
as an argument when you run the AMD version…
There's also some suggestion that the illegal instruction error when compiling the OpenCL kernel could be down to damaged OpenCL libraries https://github.com/fireice-uk/xmr-stak/issues/1312
(N.B. Apple didn't remove OpenCL in 10.14, they just deprecated it)
Ok thanks for the hints, changing auto to intel_avx fixed the error. The crash report shows that Teamviewer is causing the constant crashreport process so not related.
What percentage of 'good results' are you getting? I think when running and you press 'r' for results it should give you a number and percentage. If it's within the error rate to be expected it shouldn't be a problem – it's common to get a certain hardware error rate when GPU mining.
Comments
I'll get on that later in the week, probably Wednesday just before the fork, stay tuned!
+1 for that! thx!
thx
CPU and OpenCL versions of 2.5.1 are available now

Whoops, turns out OpenCL isn't enabled by default anymore. I've updated the OpenCL download with a fixed version

will there be an Intel CPU version soon?
What does the crash report say?

This version should work fine for Intel CPUs.

many thanks
thank you for the hint. i reinstalled the 10.13.6 combo update and now teh illegal instruction is gone and the amd version runs
I always get "Invalid Result GPU ID 0" Imac Pro with vega 64 and macOS Mojave
Try lowering the intensity in the amd.txt config file
Tryed. Still have the same problem =(
Do i need to do some homebew updates?
Getting the same error as well. Keeps popping up every couple of minutes. Still appears to be mining though.
